Free MS Office coming soon microsoft office

Microsoft has recently announced that they’ll be coming out with a free version of their productivity suite called the Office 2010 Starter Edition. The new free version will include very basic, watered-down versions of Excel and Word, and will display advertisements along a sidebar.

It should be available by next year, but it won’t come as a free download though—the free version of Microsoft Office will only ship along with new Windows 7 computers, and will come with an option to upgrade to more full-featured (paid) versions.

We really won’t know right now how functional the free versions are–especially when you compare it to similar productivity software such as OpenOffice. For all we know, it could either be useful for people who only need the basic features, or it could be another annoyance–part of the “free” junk that usually comes with a new PC.

I think that Microsoft is chasing for the 2010 phenomena where every program is updated. And it really will be disappointing if the this “new version” of office will be some how the same with the recent Microsoft office. The only difference is that there are some graphic change and some tweaks but the same interface and the like. I hope that Mircosoft will not disappoint its consumers. With the expected release of Windows7, there are many good reviews about it and I hope that it will have the same positive feedback as Windows7.
