Wii could get video streaming service next year
Consoles, Home Entertainment - Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Nintendo is planning to give the Wii an online video streaming service soon, according to a regional publication. With the service already lined up to launch in Japan by November, an expansion that includes North America and South Korea could begin sometime next year.
The service could help it compete with the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Marketplace, but like Nintendo’s games, expect to see more kid-friendly content. It falls short on native high-end multimedia playback though, but word is out that Nintendo is planning to release an HD-capable Wii in 2011.
