TomTom outs GPS device with a mobile net connection TomTom XL 340S LIVE

TomTom has just announced the XL 340S LIVE, a mid-range GPS kit that updates map and travel info live via AT&T’s mobile cellular networks. The XL 340S LIVE sports a 4.3-inch full color touchscreen and an interface that shows the usual mapping, traffic info and weather forecasts, but adds Google Local Search and gas prices via the live mobile connection. The XL 340S LIVE also features a lane assist function, and considers the live traffic data (and not just distance) to calculate the quickest route from point A to point B.

The XL 340S LIVE is set to sell for $300 with three free months of mobile online access, and $10 per month to continue the service.
