iLuv’s new porta player handles iPods and DVDs iLuv i1166

iLuv has just released a portable media player, the i1166, that comes with a 9-inch widescreen TFT LCD, an iPod dock, and a built-in DVD drive. It cracks open like a laptop to reveal the DVD drive and iPod dock (it can play movies stored on any movie-playing iPod). The i1166 is held up by a stand–like a rather thick digital photo frame—and comes with a remote to let users sit back and enjoy the show.

The i1166 can handle a wide range of media files and formats, including recordable Audio CDs, VCDs and DVDs, plus DivX-encoded videos along with the usual MP3s and Windows Media files. Media can also be plugged in through the SD card slot or with an external drive via the USB host port. The player also comes with a graphical user interface to let users navigate around the functions with ease.

The iLuv i1166 is expected to be available by mid-October for $270, and ships with a travel pack that includes iPod holders, a car adapter, an AC power adapter, and a travel pouch.

    This is one good and useful gadget! I already love iLuv! It is really nice that they invented something that can play cds/dvds, ipods and music/videos from memory cards and flash drives! A 3in1 gadget indeed or a more-in-one gadget! I think that the price is alright since it's a multi-functional gadget. Plus you don' need to plug it. (or yeah I think you should plug it since you need to charge it).
