Sprint has come out with the Samsung Instinct HD—an update of Samsung’s Instinct touchscreen phone that adds enhanced multimedia capabilities that lets it output HD content to an external HDTV or HD display. Whether it can port 720p or 1080p is unknown, but the Instinct HD does come with other updates that include a 5-megapixel camera and an Opera Mobile 9.7 browser.
The body now features rounded corners, plus a 3.2-inch touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard for hammering out long emails and easier navigation. It’s not technically a smartphone, but it does come with enough connectivity options for it to act like a high-end mobile, including 3G, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-fi. It also supports Sprint’s services that include GPS navigation, Visual Voicemail, and TV Streaming. Again, it’s not a smartphone, but the high-end spec comes with a high-end price tag: Sprint is offering the Instinct HD for $250 with a two-year contract.
