Pentax has just announced the K-x, an entry-level DSLR cam that features HD video recording and a Live View function. Compact and lightweight for one-handed shooting, the K-x is built around a 12.4-megapixel CMOS sensor with sensor-shift image stabilization, and Pentax’s PRIME II image processor.
The display is a relatively roomy 2.7-inch LCD with Live View, phase difference and Face Detection features for optimized shots. Shot settings include an increased sensitivity range that maxes out at ISO 6400, 4.7fps burst shooting, and an 11-point wide angle focus. HD video recording is supported, able to record 720p (1280 x 720) videos at 24fps.
Available in black, white, red and navy blue body colors, the Pentax K-x ships in October for $650 for a kit with an 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 lens.
