LG has just added another touchscreen phone to their, um, growing line of touchscreen phones. The LG-GW620 comes in a different flavor though, being the company’s first touchscreen smartphone to run on an Android operating system.
LG’s release didn’t provide much details, except for the obvious 3-inch touchscreen and slide-out QWERTY keypad. It runs on Google’s Android OS though, so net-connected services such as Google’s Search, Maps and Mail services should be expected as a sure thing, along with 3G support and Wi-fi connectivity. Unofficial reports also list the inclusion of a 5-megapixel cam, GPS, and 480 x 320-resolution display.

The GW620 is expected to ship in the fourth quarter of 2009. LG has also announced that they’ll be pumping out at least 13 new smartphones running on the just-released Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system within the next 16 months.
