Panasonic SC-BTX70

Panasonic has announced that they’ll be releasing their first-2.1 channel Blu-ray home theater kit soon. Labeled as the SC-BTX70, the system is able to simulate 8-channel surround sound in Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD quality through a pair of top-mounted speakers and a woofer box that’s rated for 375W of power.

The SC-BTX70 is built in an ultra slim design and features an integrated iPod Dock along with the BD drive. Full HD 1080p movie playback is supported along with video upscaling through an HDMI-out port, along with internet connectivity (for connecting to online media sites such as YouTube, and Picasa web albums) through an Ethernet port and Panasonic’s VIERA CAST feature. Additional media files can also be played through a memory card slot or its USB port.

Panasonic’s BD home theater system is available for $1000.
