Dell has just released two new notebooks powered by Intel’s low-powered CULV (Consumer Ultra Low-Voltage) processors, the 14-inch Inspiron 14z and 15.6-inch Inspiron 15z.
Both systems feature a standard spec that includes a 1.3GHz Pentium dual-core processor and a 4-cell battery that’s listed to run for up to 5 hours on the smaller 14z and 4:23 hours on the 15z. Both are designed with a full-featured spec, but in a thin and light frame for portability.
Both packages start out with 2GBs of DDR3 memory, Intel GMA X4500HD integrated graphics, Wi-fi b/g connectivity, a 160GB hard drive and a built-in DVD burner, but can be upgraded with faster Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GBs of memory, up to 500GBs of hard drive space, and a maximum 9-cell battery pack that can last up to 11 hours (a 6-cell pack is also available).
Both models are available now in pink or black lid colors. Prices start at $649 for the smaller 14z and $599 for the 15-inch 15z.
