Shock video aims to show why texting and driving don’t mix
Mobile Phones, The Net - Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

A short, graphic video has been made in the UK to show why it’s just plain stupid to use your mobile while driving. Supported by the Gwent Police, the video was created in hopes that it would be shown in schools around Wales and the rest of the UK to shock drivers into ditching their mobiles while sitting behind the wheel.

Texting while driving in the UK is illegal, and drivers caught using handheld mobile phones are  slapped with a £60 fine and three penalty points on their license for using hand-held phones.

We could show all kinds of statistics on reaction times and accident percentages, but the video should be more interesting. Another interesting tidbit: we now know that texting while driving is more dangerous than being under the influence of alcohol or drugs… but we still have no idea why Winnie the Pooh wears a shirt but no pants.
