After coming out with a teaser “Tap and Take” campaign earlier this month, Samsung has finally unveiled two new cams that a unique feature called DualView. The new feature adds a “tap to shoot” 1.5-inch display at the front for taking self-portraits.
The two new cams, named the TL225 and the TL220, are both 12.2-megapixel compacts that fit Schneider-Kreuznach 27mm wide angle lenses with a 4.6x optical zoom. Both cams also sport Samsung’s array of in-cam technologies that includes dual image stabilization, smile and face detection, and a Smart Auto mode for easy point-and-shoot operation. 720p HD Video recording is also supported on both cams.

Thanks to the DualView feature, LCD screens abound on both cams, with the TL225 sporting a large 3.5-inch touch-sensitive main display, while the cheaper TL220 packs a 3-incher at the back. Both the TL225 and TL220 are basically identical in terms of in-cam tech and specs, but the TL225 naturally fits a little more inside the compact body, adding a Super Macro mode and an HDMI port. For storage, the TL255 uses a microSDHC card slot, while the TL220 records onto regular-sized SDHC cards.
Both cams are scheduled to be released in September. The CL225 is priced at $350, while the CL220 will sell for $300.
