The latest along Logitech’s MK line of consumer-class keyboard-and-mouse kits is listed to focus on comfort and performance. Of course, focusing on comfort and performance makes them sound just like every other company that’s into selling keyboards and mice, but since the Wireless Desktop MK700 is a $100 kit, it’s only natural for us to expect better.

The MK700’s keyboard is fitted with what Logitech calls Incurve keys, which are basically keys molded with concave surfaces that “catch” your fingers properly for a nice, comfy feel. The mechanical aspect involves a keyboard built with a low-profile, but with keys that go down longer—a rarity on slim keyboards—that gives off a better tactile experience. The keyboard also has a padded palm rest to add comfort, and an LCD display on top that shows the battery life and Caps/scroll/num lock status.

The packaged mouse is a regular wireless optical clicker that features an almost-smooth-running wheel for faster navigation. For those who still prefer a clicking wheel, the mouse can shift to the regular feel of click-to-click scrolling. The aforementioned “performance” pertains more to the MK700’s connection rather than mouse sensitivity (it’s not a gaming kit after all); the receiver features a wireless 2.4GHz frequency for a higher connection range (up to 30 feet), reduced interference, delays and connection dropouts.

The Wireless Desktop MK700 is up for preorders now (but is expected to ship sometime within the month) for $99.99.
