Logitech announces two new portable iPod/iPhone speakers Logitech S315i

After coming out with a wireless desktop kit and a universal remote, Logitech has also unveiled a pair of new portable speakers that fit Apple’s iPod and iPhone called the Rechargeable Speaker S315i and the Portable Speaker S125i. Both come with Apple’s Made for iPod badge, sell for a relatively cheap price, and come with battery options for playing music away from a wall socket.

The more expensive Rechargeable Speaker S315i is highlighted (of course) by a rechargeable battery pack that’s listed to play music for up to 20 hours away from a wall socket in power-saving mode, or for up to 10 hours on regular settings. Other than the convenience of not having to think about lugging along a set of batteries, the S315i is a pretty standard iPod speaker kit that weighs around 1.47 pounds. Built with a slim single-frame design and a universal dock connector, the S315i goes along with any iPhone or iPod from the 4th gen and up (sorry old iPod owners), but it does come with a 3.5mm auxiliary connection for plugging in just about anything with a stereo out connection.

The Portable Speaker S125i is built with a mini-boombox design and also comes with a universal port for plugging in iPods and iPhones. To keep with the boombox feel, the S125i sports a Bass boost button that instantly raises the lows for a heavier bass thump, and an aux input for plugging in any other non-iPod audio source. It can also play music away from a wall socket, although with four AA batteries instead of the S315i’s rechargeable battery.

Both speaker models are currently listed for preorder, but are expected to be released within the month in the US and Europe. The S315i will sell for $129.99, while the S125i is substantially cheaper at $69.99.
