Dell has just announced a Nickelodeon Edition of their 10-inch Mini 10v netbook. Designed (obviously) for kids, the netbook will feature graphics of Nickelodeon’s trademark green slime on the lid and palmrest, plus several kid-friendly features for security.
It runs on a Windows XP operating system, but the interface will be decked with a Nick-based theme that includes links and widgets that point to Nickelodeon’s websites. No word on an official spec yet, but since it’s basically a dressed-up Mini 10v, it’s pretty safe to assume that the Nickelodeon Edition will feature the existing model’s spec: 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory, integrated Intel 945GSE graphics, a 120GB hard drive, 1.3MP Webcam, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, and a 10-inch, 1024×600 display.
No word yet on pricing but it’s expected to be released in October, in time for the holidays. The standard Mini 10v’s price starts out at $299.
