Wearable tech takes an interesting new twist with Hybra Advance Technology’s new O.R.B. Bluetooth headset. O.R.B. means Orbital Ring Bluetooth, and twists into a ring when not in use, to save people from looking like idiots with headsets jammed into the ear when they’re not taking calls.
The ORB uses NXT’s bone conduction audio technology to deliver sound without having to be pushed in to the ear, and dual microphones with noise cancellation for clear audio. It’s built to be waterproof (thankfully), and will be available in different colors and four sizes to fit different fingers and styles. A Deluxe version will be offered that will feature a Flexible Organic LED (FOLED) screen along the outside of the ring that displays caller ID, reminders and voice-to-text info. Customizable Limited Editions of the ORB will also be available, with options for creating the ring using any precious material and fitting it with precious stones.

The standard kit will be launched in January 2010 for $129. The Deluxe FOLED-equipped ORB and the customizable Limited Edition will start selling in April for $175 (plus the cost of the options to be fitted into the Limited Edition). This should go pretty well with the new Watch-phones (by LG and Samsung) making the rounds of late.
