Euro-based graphics company Club 3D has just released their own build based on ATI’s HD 4890 graphics processor. Of course, the HD 4890 itself has been out for quite some time now, but it’s still one of the most powerful gaming graphics cards on the planet at the moment. Nothing much has been changed over ATI’s reference model except for the cooling chamber’s design, but it does feature an active fansink kit for cooling.
The active fansink simply detects the running temperatures and adjusts the fan speed to effectively manage the heat. Less heat would mean better performance, as well as a higher overclocking ceiling.
The card itself runs on the high-end HD 4890 chip that features a standard 850MHz GPU clock speed, 1GB of GDDR5 memory set to 3900MHz, and 800 stream processors for performance. It’s built with a PCI Express 2.0 interface, plus dual DVI connections along the back plate for connecting multiple displays. The bundle also includes DVI to HDMI and DVI to VGA adapters for connecting to HDTVs and older monitors.
