Sony unveils new Walkman players sony walkman e440

Sony has recently announced a couple of new additions to its line of Walkman players (Walkmen?) in Europe. The new products include the E440 Series that features a 2-inch color LCD screen and 16GBs of storage, and the tiny B140 Series with 4GBs of storage.

The E440 series offers 30fps video playback (MPEG-4, WMV9, and H.264 formats supported) and photo viewing on its 2-inch QVGA screen, plus the option to choose themes for the interface and a photo for the background. The player also features a 30-hour battery life, and Clear Audio Technologies that enhances the sound quality.

The B140 Series is a compact thumbdrive-sized player with a tiny 3-line display. It packs in 4GBs of memory for storing tunes, but no space for an FM tuner. It does feature Sony’s ZAPPIN song search function. Enabled by the ZAP button, the feature scans the library and gives you a 4-second or 15 second preview of the chorus. The B140 also features a quick-charge feature that’s listed to give you up to 18 hours of juice on a quick three-minute charge.
