Recession? What’s that? Sony apparently hasn’t gotten the memo, as the company has released the Vaio Signature Collection, made up of some very luxurious, re-worked Sony Vaio notebooks.
If you have the money, you can choose from a slew of limited edition designs. At the lower end of the series’ price spectrum is the $780 Crocodile CS, with a croc covering in brown, pink and red colors; the $890 glossy Deep Violet CS; and the $1,100 matte Champagne Gold SR. If you have even more cash to burn, there’s the matte Bordeaux Red Z priced at $1,770; Electric Blue TT priced at $2000; the black and white Kaleidoscope Z priced at $2,750; and the most expensive of the bunch, the Carbon Fiber Z, which can be had for $4,350. Sony also released a new version of their Vaio P netbook, which is probably the most expensive netbook out right now. The Glossy Black P boasts of a 256GB solid state drive, but has a whopping $2000 price tag. Now that’s quite a stretch for a netbook, but if you have the cold, hard cash, and you want to spend it, then go right ahead.
