OCZ launches OLED equipped gaming keyboard OCZ Sabre

OCZ Technology has just announced the Sabre OLED Gaming Keyboard that’s equipped with smart keys to make work and play so much easier, and enough lights to keep you warm through the holidays.

The separate smart keypad to the left of the keyboard is made up of nine dynamic OLED hotkeys that can be programmed to open applications or set macros of key combinations for use on games and other applications. The OLED keys can be set to show different user-created icons (converted from images or text) to create personalized hotkeys. The rest of the keys are fitted with amber LED backlights, while the sides feature blue LEDs add a little ambiance while gaming in darkened rooms.

The Sabre is packaged with software for customizing the icons and setting the macros. The keys can also be configured to add additional sub-layers of commands for further customization. These command tiers allows the user to shift between applications easily. Loading a game such as a first-person shooter will automatically change the smart keys’ icons to show a set of weapons or commands (as long as the user sets it up that way).

The keyboard is compatible with Windows XP and Vista, and is equipped with 128MBs of onboard memory for storing everything, and a USB 2.0 interface. OCZ offers a 1-year warranty on the Sabre.
