A couple of days after Maingear’s “buy a PC now, get a free copy of Windows 7 later” announcement, CyberPower follows suit with pretty much the same deal to push buyers into springing for a new PC right now rather than waiting for Windows 7’s official release in October.
CyberPower’s deal gives buyers that pick up a Vista-installed gaming system, notebook PC or high-performance workstation through their Website a free Windows 7 upgrade after a $29 mail-in rebate. The program is also extended to their other retail partners, including Newegg, TigerDirect and Costco.
The offer upgrades systems with Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium, Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional, and Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate.
