With all the external storage drives coming out these days, it’s only natural for some way to connect them to your home entertainment center without having to run them through a computer. LaCie’s LaCinema Classic Bridge aims to help you bridge that gap, providing enough connectivity options to turn your external or internal drives into a set top kit.
It’s a pretty simple concept made real pretty by LaCie’s minimalist gloss-black design. You can connect an external drive (such as an external USB drive or flash drive) by the external USB host port, or install an internal3.5-inch SATA hard disk into the compact black box. The LaCinema Classic Bridge then connects to your TV or home entertainment center through a component or HDMI cable and outputs HD 1080p, 720p and 480p resolutions.

Your multimedia library can be sorted by files or through the graphic interface and can be accessed with the packaged remote. This kit is DivX-certified for playing high-quality compressed videos, but just about every common digital video, audio and photo format is supported for easy compatibility.
The LaCinema Classic Bridge is now available for $99 and comes with a 2-year warranty, but you’re going to pick up an internal hard drive yourself.
