Iomega just let out a slew of new models for its eGo portable hard drive series. Now running on USB 2.0, the line consists of 320GB and 500GB units in three colors – Ruby Red, Silver and Midnight Blue.
Encased in anodized aluminum, the 2.5-inch drives are protected by Iomega’s Drop Guard, which shields data from up to 51-inch drops. Bundled with the drives is the Iomega Protection Suite, which has McAfee Virus Scan, Iomega Quik Protect, EMC Retrospect Express or Express HD, and MozyHome Online Backup. The eGos are compatible with both Windows and Mac and come with three-year limited warranties. All are available now with prices at $95 for the 320GB models and $135 for the 500GB ones.
Iomega is also coming out with an even more rugged version called the eGo BlackBelt. The 500Gb portable hard drive should be out by June, and it will come with its own eGo Power Grip belt and DropGuard Xtreme to protect the drive from drops of up to 7 feet.
