Samsung Alias 2 is out on Verizon samsungalias2

The Samsung Alias 2 is now available on Verizon, and it has a few tricks up its sleeve.

Flip it open vertically and it show a regular numeric keypad; flip it open horizontally and you get a full QWERTY keyboard that can also change to show a numeric keypad with symbols. It’s actually an E Ink keyboard, which changes depending on what position the phone is in, and what you want it to show. This phone actually isn’t the best-looking clamshell we’ve seen, but the E Ink keypad helped keep our interest.

Aside from its morphing capabilities, the Alias 2 has pretty basic features. You get a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, RemoSync support for corporate e-mail and Verizon add-ons such as VZ NavigatorSM, Visual Voice Mail and Mobile Web. It’s priced at $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a Verizon two-year contract.
