Based on AMD’s AM3 platform, Shuttle’s new XPC focuses on high-end HD computing and 3D gaming with a system that’s capable of taking on the Phenom II processor. For HD-ready visuals, the XPC SA76G2 also comes with full DirectX 10 support via an integrated ATI RV610 (Radeon 3000 series) graphics chip that can handle ATI’s CrossFireX and SurroundView technologies for multi-GPU configurations and multi-monitor setups (for connecting up to four simultaneous displays).
The system is all built around the AMD 760G + SB710 chipsets for supporting the latest AMD AM3 and AM2+ processors that includes anything from a budget Sempron up to the latest Phenom II. The compact case is cooled by Shuttle’s proprietary I.C.E. 2 cooling system and allows for up to 8GBs of DDR2 800 memory, two hard drives and an optical drive, while external connectors include front-side USB and audio ports for easy access. The barebone system also integrates a Gigabit LAN connection and HD 5.1 audio.
