Google streamlines search further with Similar Images and News Timeline
The Net - Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Google Labs sure has been busy lately, with a revamped site at a new Web address plus a couple of fresh experiments. According to their official blog, the Google folks have released Similar Images and News Timeline – two new Google search enhancements that can make your search experience a lot simpler.
Similar Images (shown above) gives you a link inside Google Images to find the exact images you want. This way, if you see something like the picture you’re looking for, you can click on the Similar Images link and Google will show you all the other pictures that look like it. Check out this demo:
Building on the same concept of narrowing search further is the News Timeline, which lays our articles from Google News and other news sources on a graphical timeline. You can zoom in and out on the timeline, navigate through it by dragging, and view specific time frames. It even allows you to view multiple sources at the same time.
