OCZ introduces DDR3 memory optimized for AMD’s AM3 platform OCZ%20AMD%20AM3

OCZ has expanded their line of DDR3 memory modules for enthusiasts and power users running on AMD’s AM3 platform by introducing four new models for their new Platinum and Gold Edition line. The new kits were designed specifically to cater to AMD’s transition to the DDR3 interface for what’s supposedly a “future-proof” system for low-voltage memory requirements.

The memory kits include two new models each for the brand’s Gold and Platinum line, with different memory timings and bandwidth. The PC3-12800 Platinum AMD Edition has a 1600MHz bandwidth, 7-7-7-24 timing at 1.65Volts, while the PC3-10666 Platinum AMD Edition has a 1333MHz bandwidth, and is rated at 7-7-7-20 on 1.65V. The 1600MHz PC3-12800 Gold AMD Edition has an 8-8-8-24 timing at 1.65V, and the 1333MHz PC3-10666 Gold AMD Edition has a 9-9-9-20 memory timing at 1.65V.

The AMD-optimized memory modules are hand-tested for quality and feature OCZ’s high quality gold or platinum XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) heatspreaders for managing the heat. These premium kits are available in 4GB dual channel (2×2GB) packages and are backed by a lifetime warranty.
