Acer has finally unveiled the 11.6-inch Aspire One netbook that has been on the radar since last month. The newest member of the brand’s netbook line lists a soft touch keyboard, a slim, 1-inch profile, and a touchpad that now supports multi-touch gestures. Like the touchpad first seen on the MacBook Air, the new touchpad also zooms in and out of pages with pinching gestures. The 11.6-inch Aspire One also packs a 6-cell battery that’s listed to run for up to eight hours.
It may be a bit bigger than your standard netbook with the 11.6-inch widescreen, but the rest of the specs are pretty much what you’d expect from the Aspire One line. This 2.2-pound netbook runs on Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom processor and a 160GB hard drive preinstalled with a Windows XP OS. It also sports Wi-fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth and 3G data network connectivity.
The Acer Aspire One 11.6 will be available in white, blue, red and black. Pricing and availability hasn’t been made available yet.
