Xerox goes large with the DocuMate 700 scanner
Scanners - Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Scanning large documents can sometimes be a major annoyance with regular, narrow flatbed scanners. Xerox is remedying this by releasing the Xerox DocuMate 700 – an 11 x 17-inch flatbed scanner that can accommodate bigger-than-usual material (like A3-sized paper).
This model also includes a built-in USB hub so you can connect it either to a PC or connect it to a scanner with an automatic document feeder for some serious power scanning. Visioneer technology lets it scan directly to preset destinations, so you won’t have to keep fiddling with the settings every time you need to scan something. Other programs bundled with the scanner are Kofax VRS, Nuance PaperPort and OmniPage Pro OCR, which convert high volume documents into searchable and editable files.
The DocuMate 700 scanner is available now, with a $995 price tag.
