HP reworks the Z Workstations hpzworkstations

HP has given their Z Workstation line for demanding applications an overhaul, coming out with three new models hot off the factory. The HP Z800, Z600 and Z400 Workstations have slim, angular shells made of brushed aluminum, while their insides allow various components to slide in and out easily with a cable-less design. All three are powered by an Intel Xeon processor with integrated memory controllers and Intel Turbo Boost Technology. They all have high-end Nvidia Quadro graphics, high definition (HD) audio, up to 7.5TB of storage and optional solid state drives.

The quad core HP Z800 Workstation is at the high end of the spectrum with a price tag of $1,999, featuring an option for liquid-cooling and an Intel Xeon W5580 processor with QuickPath Technology. The compact HP Z600 Workstation on the other hand is selling for $1,679, has a narrow minitower and can accommodate up to eight displays. The HP Z400 Workstation is the most affordable at $969, but it features an Intel Xeon W3500 processor, can take up to six displays, has a convertible minitower and includes an option for liquid cooling as well.
