Bang & Olufsen has announced that the company’s line of BeoVision 8 TVs will now include a new 40-inch version that offers a full HD output with good audio in a compact cabinet. The BeoVision 8-40 LCD TV features a range of new technologies, including double frame rate (100Hz) tech with motion compensation, and a down-facing bass speaker for a rich sound quality.
The BeoVision 8 line previously included a 26- and 32-inch model, that features retractable feet for placing on the floor or on a countertop to make it ideal for computer workstations, gaming consoles and the home theater. Built in the same way as it’s 8-series cousins, the new 40-incher also sports a small shelf underneath the screen where the stereo speakers are found. Known for producing high-quality audio equipment, B&O makes sure that the new 40-incher doesn’t go far off, with front units providing sound clarity for speech, while a down-facing bass speaker gives the overall sound a firm foundation.
The BeoVision 8-40’s display panel sports a high-glare surface with a low-reflection coating to give users a good picture no matter what room you’re in (even in the veranda). B&o also built the set with a high light transmission and a high black level for optimum contrast, and an automatic picture control function that dynamically changes the black and white balance for adapting to difficult lighting conditions.
