Silicon Power introduces 64GB eSATA/USB drive
Storage - Thursday, February 26th, 2009
Memory maker Silicon Power just released a 64GB “thumb drive” with an eSATA and mini USB interface. It may look like a rather large USB flash drive, but this 64-gigger offer faster read times via the eSATA port. The eSATA connection has a read speed of 90MB/s and a read speed of 42MB/s, which clocks it at eight times the speed of vanilla USB. The drive’s mini-USB connector runs at read/write speeds of 30MB/s and 25MB/s.
The eSATA/USB SSD supports hot plugging through the eSATA port and is available in 8, 16, 32, and 64GB capacities.
