Microsoft just announced that they’ll be shipping the SideWinder X8 gaming mouse this week. Initially announced last September 2008, the SideWinder X8 is packed with Microsoft’s new BlueTrachTechnology, along with high-speed wireless connectivity to top the company’s performance/gaming line of peripherals

BlueTrack Technology also gives the mouse more precision, with an image processing capability of 13,000 frames per second.

Designed with 12 buttons (seven of which are programmable), the X8 sports a scroll wheel that can tilt left or right for more control options. The X8 also runs on a fast 2.4GHz wireless frequency and full-speed 500Hz USB reporting for lag-free play, and comes with an internal battery that runs for up to 30 hours on a single charge so the fun hardly stops.

For precision control, the X8 sports a DPI switch for changing the sensitivity with a click. There’s an LCD screen on top for displaying the DPI settings and macro sets used. The X8 allows for in-game macro recording using a dedicated button.

Offered with a 3-year warranty, the X8 is set to sell for $99.95.
