After announcing two new E-series mobiles, Nokia also unveiled a couple of smartphones for their 6-series line: the 6710 Navigator and the 6720 Classic. The 6710 Navigator is a Symbian-powered slider that heavily revolves around its built-in GPS (which explains why it falls under the ‘Navigator’ line), with a dedicated key for running Nokia Maps v3.0. The 6710’s navigation suite also includes preloaded regional maps, full voice navigation, and gives you real time traffic and weather information, aside from showing the usual “Points of Interest” on its 2.6-inch screen.

The 6710 Navigator also comes with HSDPA 10.2 Mbps data network support, Bluetooth, USB, Wi-fi b/g, a 5MP camera with autofocus and flash, and a 3.5mm AV jack that can output to a TV.

The 6720 classic is a 14mm-thick candybar phone that you could consider as the 6710 “Lite”. It features a smaller 2.2-inch screen, and a similar 5-megapixel camera, and GPS navigation, although it lacks a few of the GPS-based goodies that the 6710 has—such as voice navigation and real-time updates. This Symbian smartphone also doesn’t have a Wi-fi connection, but it does have the same 3.5mm AV connection for TV-out capabilities, and it supports Nokia’s N-Gage gaming platform to keep you entertained.

The 6720 classic should be out by the second quarter of the year with an ESRP of 245 EUR, while the 6710 Navigator is set to come out by the third quarter for 300 EUR.
