Sony celebrates Valentine’s with the Harlequin Reader Digital Book sonysangriaredreaderdigitalbook

Flowers and candy are old news for Valentine’s Day – if you feel the need to celebrate, you can now do so in a not so saccharine way. Sony has released a limited edition of their Digital Reader Book just in time for the 14th, and it’s in Sangria Red – a color that the company seems to be in love with these days. This release was actually created in partnership with book publisher Harlequin to celebrate the company’s 60th anniversary.

The $299 Harlequin Reader will come with a soft leather cover embossed with the Harlequin logo, and a free enclosed code for a free eBook, Carly Phillips’ Secret Fantasy. If this code is redeemed by March 6, 2009, you’ll get 5 months of 20% off coupon codes, with one code per month. As if that’s not enough, Harlequin is also offering free downloads of 16 titles from Sony’s eBook Store.

The Reader Digital Book holds around 160 eBooks (20MB of internal memory). It has a high contrast and high resolution 6-inch display, runs on a rechargeable battery, and a slot for memory cards. The bundled eBook Library 2.0 PC program also supports PDF and Word files, as well as BBeB Book and other text file formats, so you can read things other than eBooks.
