LGs GD910: the first fully functioning wristwatch phone LG GD910

LG unveiled what’s supposed to be the world’s first market-ready Touch Watch Phone equipped with 3G videocall capabilities and quad-band GSM connectivity at the CES 09 show in Vegas. Officially labeled as the LG-GD910, this “smart watch” is built with a 1.43-inch touchscreen, 7.2Mbps 3G HSDPA network support, Bluetooth connectivity, text messaging functions, a camera, and a music player.

An intuitive flash-based interface and the inclusion of voice recognition helps you move around the phone’s different functions such as placing calls and looking up contacts, and Text-to-Speech technology will let you listen to incoming messages for convenience.

Since it’s not just a production prototype anymore, this definitely takes us one step further into sci-fi/comic book territory. When it starts to sell, make sure your contacts have cool-sounding nicknames. Because no matter how cool your futuristic watch-phone may look, saying “call mom” into your watch definitely kills the fantasy.
