Mimoco launches Urban Treeson flash drive and GURP USB recycling program urbantreesonmimobot

Mimoco, purveyor of designer USB flash drives called Mimobots, has released the Urban Treeson Mimobot from Hong Kong illustrator and graphic artist, Bubi Au Yeung. The Treeson series of vinyl toys, which feature a character raised by forest trees, are favorites in the art world, and Mimoco has taken these toys and made them into USB flash drives. Last year, the company released the Classic Treeson Mimobot, and now the Urban Treeson Mimobot is available for a limited edition of 500 pieces. Choose from 1, 2, 4, and 8G models. Price starts at $24.95.

With the launch of the tree-loving Treeson, Mimoco is also highlighting GURP, or the Greenbot USB Recycling Program. Now you can help Mother Earth by sending the USB flash drives you’ve outgrown or want to get rid of to Mimoco, Attn: GURP, 119 Braintree St. #106, Boston, MA 02134. Mimoco will then send you an e-mail with a discount code for a brand new Mimobot flash drive, and they’ll take care of recycling your old one. Greenbot discounts go from $5 off for 1GB and unknown size flash drives, to $15 off for flash drives that are 8GB or higher. That’s certainly a lot better than just throwing your old flash drive into the trash, doesn’t it?
