Motorolas AURA looks and feels like a Swiss watch Motorola%20AURA%20(2)

After coming out with the slim RAZR phone that’s now pretty much a part of the mobile phone hall of fame, Motorola comes up with something different (again) with the AURA, which certainly stands apart with rounded sides and a circular screen to make it look like a pocket watch.

Motorolas AURA looks and feels like a Swiss watch First off, this phone doesn’t deserve much merit for being particularly smart or technologically advanced. But it sure deserves at least a second look just for looking so darn good. With a sliding body that’s made from handcrafted stainless steel and sapphire crystal, this phone opens like a switchblade, looks like a Swiss watch (with the Swiss feel to match), and comes with a $1,999 price tag to make it highly exclusive.

The build quality is certainly something else. Moto pulled all the stops and packed this phone with a laundry list of premium materials for the 700+ components that make up this phone, including grade 1 62-carat sapphire crystal (one of the most scratch-resistant materials on the planet), a Swiss-made bearing for the swivel, an aluminum keypad, Tungsten Carbide-coated gears, and a mirror polished finish for the external panels.

The embedded tech doesn’t have anything that a geek might drool over, but it pretty much comes with everything the average user would need, with quad-band GSM network support, Bluetooth and EDGE connectivity.
